The Ocean Recovery team collected 600 bodyboards, which would have initially been sent to landfill. They recycle the polystyrene inside the boards and use it to make other products. The team allowed us to keep all of the fabric from the boards, on the condition that we helped to strip them. On Saturday 6th, a brilliant team of students, parents and teachers gathered at Tretherras and stripped all 600 boards! The fabric collected it now being up-cycled into jewellery bags for our product!
We are going to be creating a range of jewellery bags to raise funds for our main project. Alina - a member of our team- is currently making a dress entirely out of the recycled fabric to promote our business!
